I wanted add another comment concerning so called American conservatives, they are not conservative for they do not wish to conserve American democracy but to control and eventually replace it. That is most evident today in the republican party's work to control voting. Pay attention folks.

"The president [Trump] is a nationalist, [fascist] which is not at all the same thing as a patriot. A nationalist encourages us to be our worst, and then tells us that we are the best. A nationalist, 'although endlessly brooding on power, victory, defeat, revenge,' wrote Orwell, tends to be 'uninterested in what happens in the real world.' Nationalism is relativist, since the only truth is the resentment we feel when we contemplate others. As the novelist Danilo Kiš put it, nationalism 'has no universal values, aesthetic or ethical.' A patriot, by contrast, wants the nation to live up to its ideals, which means asking us to be our best selves. A patriot must be concerned with the real world, which is the only place where his country can be loved and sustained. A patriot has universal values, standards by which he judges his nation, always wishing it well—and wishing that it would do better." Timothy Snyder 'On Tyranny'

'Far-right populism is much more common, and much more dangerous, than neo-fascism'

https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2015/12/10/9886152/donald-trump-fascism"First, democracy is more than holding elections; it requires the development of civil society, meaning such complex and counterintuitive institutions as the rule of law, an independent judiciary, multiple political parties, minority rights, voluntary associations, freedom of expression, movement, and assembly. Democracy is a learned habit, not an instinctive one, that requires deep attitudinal changes such as a culture of restraint, a commonality of values, a respect for differences of view, the concept of loyal opposition, and a sense of civic responsibility." Roosevelt predicted him. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself. "They stole the election" "hoardes are heading toward the border" "they are sending us their murderers and rapists" "enemies of the people" "cop hating extremists" "nobody will be safe in Bidens America"“Countless innocent American lives have been stolen because our politicians have failed in their duty to secure our borders" "This election is shaping up to be church, work, and school versus rioting, looting, and vandalism." ]Radical 'Islamic terrorists are gathering strength. Christians are being executed en masse in the Middle East. Illegal immigrants lurk in the shadows. Gangs operate with impunity in our cities. The U.S. murder rate, the President falsely claims “is the highest it’s been in 47 years.” Drugs are “pouring” across the border. "Bad people (with bad intentions) are flooding through our airports.'

This is a juvenile thread. Everyone votes based on fear of the politics of the other side. You have people who call themselves "progressives" voting based on fear of climate change or that their welfare check will be taken away.

The only people who don't vote out of fear are 3rd party voters and people who vote for favorite sons.
I am the President-Elect of the United States.

Ah, so the whole point of this thread is for you to express your fears of Trump.

Here, show us on the doll how he hurt you.

    Just more projection.

The Constitution says the states regulate voting. Preserving that is conservative. Trampling on it with federal regulation is liberalism. And it's Texas Democrats shirking their democratic duty.
