So, the Constitution provides the basis for citizens' right to be secure "in their persons, houses, papers, and effects" but the State can deny a woman the same privacy and autonomy over her uterus? As for your seeing "no foundation" for a right to privacy, the actual word may not be used, but it's what the Fourth Amendment is all about.
This is an issue about which conservatives cannot even legitimately claim that tradition is on their side, as U.S. laws outlawing abortion were rare to non-existent until about 1880.
