My point stands. Iran has a powerful intelligence force.

A mass uprising has begun in Iran.

It started in Khuzestan province (south west of Iran), as a protest against the government policy which has caused severe water shortages there. Many farmers have lost their jobs and many ranchers have lost their animals because of water shortage, despite Khuzestan province contains the largest rivers of Iran, but the water is transported elsewhere.

This wave of protests has begun on 15 July. At first it was small and limited to a few cities in Khuzestan, but it quickly spread to the other cities and other provinces. There have been riots in Bushehr, Lorestan and Esfehan provinces.

The number of protestor has constantly increased and people are getting more and more radicalized. So far (23 July) there has been 8 confirmed casualties, and 1 policeman has been confirmed dead. Since there is severe censorship and the government has cut the internet in Khuzestan, the number of casualties is probably higher, and it gets higher every day.

Since Khuzestan borders Iraq, protestors can move close to Iraq's border to use Iraqi internet service providers in order to publish the news. Videos show the government has moved a large police and military force to Khuzestan (probably because the local forces are neither enough nor trustworthy), including tanks and armored vehicles to suppress this uprising. The police and military forces have used tear gas and anti riot shotguns, as well as live ammunition.

The government is completely unable to meet people's demands at this point, and sees violent suppression as its only solution.

Aside from water shortages, the country is suffering from high inflation, COVID-19 pandemic and electricity shortages, all of which result from the governmental corruption, mismanagement and expansionist policy.

Many cities and districts have suffered from long black outs. During the black outs, people yell slogans against the regime from the roof tops, as they did during the 1979 revolution. At a metro station in Tehran, people spontaneously began yelling "death to the Islamic Republic" and "death to Khamenei".

If the worker strikes and street riots join and move together, violent suppression becomes impossible and may even backfire. Soldiers and low ranking officers may disobey their superiors and join the revolution.

I will try to keep this thread updated. The protests are ongoing as I write here.
Yeah, and I'm sure if the commies like you got into power, everything would magically get better, right?

Instead of living under a religious regime, Iranians would get to live under an atheist regime.
Power always thinks it has a great soul, and vast views, beyond the comprehension of the weak. And that it is doing God service when it is violating all His laws.

Wow. Quite the reaction. Trying to tell me what I can say because your propaganda is failing entirely. Go to hell you little commie worm. This is not your homeland of China we also have the first amendment to go along with the second.

The protests are spreading and radicalizing so fast that perhaps they can no longer be described as protests. We are dealing with a revolutionary movement.

Popular demonstrations have spread to Chaharmahal, Fars and Azerbaijan provinces today. There was even a small demonstration in Tehran suburbs. In Tabriz and Urumia, both of them about 1000 kilometers away from Khuzestan, Azeri speaking people came into streets with the slogan "We don't want a king or a Mullah, we stand for the nation".

At least 1 more person is confirmed dead. The government has cut the internet and electricity of the revolutionary districts. Large groups of military forces in armored vehicles are patrolling the cities of Khuzestan day and night. The arrested people, numbering at least 700 (until July 24), are "missing". They have not contacted their families and no one knows where they are.

Good news. Hopefully the people will throw down the Mullahs.

My point also stands . i.e. most countries have no choice but , to engage in espionage to counter aggressive US espionage.

Your "points" don't stand anywhere. Least of all in reality.

Such wise international thoughts from someone who did not even know until last year it was legal for US warships to transit the Straits of Hormuz.
...and three months ago, said Trump served only 2 1/2 years in office.

Your realities change with each waking day, don't they ?

...and now you are trying to sound like some International Law scholar when you don't even know the basics.

Stalin would have you recalled and thrown in a Gulag, you are so off-base.
