Does your cat love you ? 🐈

Those who have felt their cat affectionately rub against their leg, or looked into its understanding eyes, know the solace and comfort that felines can bring. Yet cats are as motivated by food and shelter as many humans, and there is an evolutionary advantage to them feigning interest in their masters in exchange for such things. Modern science allows us to peer into animals' brains

That varies depending on the cat. Since they were all saves the have different degrees of the wild still in them.

I'd always thought cats ignored you. My doesn't. It's always coming over to me for attention. If I reach down to pet it, it gets annoyed and walks away. If I ignore it, it bites my ankles and feet. It does allow me to pet it with my feet, which seems odd, but is better than getting bit. It's got nothing to do with food. At lunchtime, which is snack time, and morning and evening, feeding time, if it's hungry, it lets me know by whining in a certain way. If I say "wanna eat!" it jumps up and runs to the kitchen. But I don't try to figure him out, he's a cat and that's that.

Cats respond differently to different people. Hussie is very obvious about his bids for attention, what he is requesting for food/water/half n half, or treats. He speaks feline very well. Mt spouse, on the other hand, is reason for hiding in the back of the clothes closet for hours.

It took me about 3 months to acclimate him (he is a neighborhood cat) to my touch and house. He is very affectionate.
