The crumbling façade of Cuban communism

And this is what Sanders, AOC, BLM want for us.

The crumbling façade of Cuban communism

...it excels in literacy. When Fidel Castro took power in 1959, he and his ruthless central planner Che Guevara saw education as critical – not for the pursuit of knowledge, but for the pursuit of indoctrination. Cuba’s educational system is focused around Marxist ideology.

Given that almost everyone can read and write, can’t the Cuban people simply choose to read something else? Perhaps some Adam Smith or Russell Kirk? Unfortunately, the government decides which books are allowed and who can read them, with a specific focus on children.

...when it comes to free healthcare. Yet ambulances can rarely go out in time. Understaffed and underfunded, immediate care transportation more often looks like Cubans commandeering a nearby taxi to take the person to the hospital. The nice hospitals are reserved for the elites and the tourists.

...Another instance of economic suffocation is the communist party’s grip on Cubans making $30 a month, even as the Castro family amasses extravagant wealth, estimated by Forbes magazine at $900 million dollars....

There is a rich class in Cuba. There are nice homes, yacht clubs, upscale restaurants...
This is where the lefts politicians in the USA expect to find themselves.

The problem is that there is no middle class. The government prevents them from making money. They will let you open a restaurant but then limit you to only 7 tables to make sure you do not spur capitalism.

As in any Socialist society the goal is not to make every wealthier. It is to make everyone (other than the elite) equally poor.

You can go there through Mexico. They do not stamp passports of Americans.
Their are plenty of tourists there. Even Americans.

Once again if it is so great in Cuba then why is Freedom of Speech or Immigration out of the Country Denied?

Reminds me of the useful idiot Michael Moore trying to sell the United States on the Cuban healthcare system. Of course he was only allowed to film exactly as staged for his cameras. The Cuban authorities learned that propaganda trick from the Soviets.

I would think that a country such as Cuba will still be around and in good shape , long after the US has deteriorated further into becoming an economic basket case , struggling to look after itself as it once did , many years ago . Cuba has a very cohesive society , brought together by adversity , despite 60 years of failed US policy , doing their utmost to destroy them at every opportunity . Cuba will survive and outlive the US as a country .

Sure, Cuba will survive, sans communism. We could learn from them.
