America has become the world’s most authoritarian mass-censors

" The elites of Silicon Valley, Wall Street, and Capitol Hill act as the true overlords of Western thought, guarding the borders of allowable speech. How on earth did we allow this to happen – and what can be done now?"

"America has changed beyond recognition over the past few years, and performed a rather rapid about-face on the issue of free speech, a notion it once championed. The source of this is no longer merely the apparatus of Silicon Valley and its desire to control information flows (which it is meant to merely shepherd without bias). The same pressure has come from the superstate structure of America itself, particularly (and ironically) the politically ‘liberal’ faction, as well as from an overarching pressure from the consumer interests of Western-backed global finance. "

America is no longer the leading Western country . They have become an embarrassing betrayal of all the things we hold dear and put great value in ........and the downhill slide looks set to continue .

We do have some issues with censorship, but nothing compared to either Russia or China.

It's really just growing pains. We're the top nation in the world, so it's to be expected that we have differences of opinions.

The problems are coming from those who would like to turn us into a communist nation, but our constitution and our people will never allow it.

China likely thinks our problems are worse than they are, since left-leaning newspapers are the norm here, but we're doing pretty good. We're closing in on the evidence that Covid leaked from a lab in China, and after that's proven, no nation will want to trade with China. The sanctions will be enormous!

We live in interesting times, but I still live in the best nation on the planet, and I'm forever thankful for that.

Australia for one .......it surpasses the US , as a country on every level , and has for a long long time . New Zealand also is a far superior country to the US . There are many many countries way ahead of America . American culture is , in a word "McDonalds" , and is not even in the cultural race compared with great European countries like Greece , Italy , Germany , Spain or Portugal . The only thing America ever had was false economic dominance , which now seems to be in a state of decline through the ridiculous money printing addiction .

They don't have near our GDP, and Aussies have been stripped of their right to defend themselves by owning guns.

    Phooey....

Just ask the millions of immigrants that seek to move to the US each year what nation is the best.

You were cheerleading the COVID-related authoritarianism from the very beginning, so you have no room to talk.

Government locking down entire societies; forcing healthy people to wear disgusting, dehumanizing muzzles that protect no one; shutting down virtually every social institution in existence; you were all for it.

    Laughable.

Australia is a nation of dupes and slaves who surrendered their most basic rights because they were scared of an overhyped cold virus.

And your government stood by and did absolutely nothing as perhaps your greatest modern citizen - Julian Assange - was railroaded by the US and the UK.

Australia is just another failure of western civilization, descending rapidly into decadence, weakness, and servility.

Guns and GDP are meaningless in reality . Living standards in the US are sadly in steep decline and have been for years . .....plus it's hard to justify America's stated GDP figures , when they no longer produce anything , and haven't for years.....something quite strange happening there. Everything comes from China .
