That's a great idea about ignoring them, but trolls feed on that too: it's permission to keep going. Both you and cletus have good ideas on this. I say, report a troll post, and we all know what a troll post is, let the mods threadban the poster, and just make THAT the new practice: it'll send a clear message if it's consistent. Simple, a part of rules anyway. Don't over think it.

I do understand that absolutely everything has a political aspect - usually a very partisan one - to some people...

How is something included in the original sentence/thought an "afterthought"? The entire point of my post was that everything DOESN'T have a political aspect, and that people who try to pretend that things do that clearly don't are misguided and tiresome.

You didn't read my post carefully enough, jumped on me for saying something I very clearly didn't say, and now you characterize what I DID say, from the very beginning, as looking "rather like an afterthought". What some people won't resort to in order to try to make excuses for their own sloppy thinking and poor reading skills.

I like this idea. I can't tell you how many times I've jumped into an innocuous thread and someone starts turning it political with '...bet Deviants think differently...' or 'trumptards must've done this too..' or things like that. I jump back out. These folks deserve 24 hours - AND IT'S ONLY 24-HOURS.
