I have no problem with laws requiring that animals be treated humanely before being slaughtered.

    Truly, no one should mind.

We also have our own CA gas formula standards that nobody else will make because it is not economical. That is why our prices are always higher than most of the Nation and shortages a constant risk. They won't allow for any new refineries either.

That is a valid point, and I haven't read the actual law, but I can bet that it is extremely prohibitive, and not just about animal welfare. Liberal policy is rarely about what it purports to be.

I am not against that in general terms, but there is a political movement to remove meat from the menu altogether.

Which is nonsensical from a medical and nutritional standpoint. Americans already eat a predominately plant based diet. It is that diet that has made us fat.

I guess that could be true. I don't want to see anyone source of income bumped out, and this could result in costlier meat.

I just hope it's a fair law that treats both the animals and the livestock owners with respect.

I already pay significantly more for my meat (i.e. put my money where my mouth is) and I agree with you 100%, however, my concern here is that the state is not actually working with pork producers and businesses to make this work. At first glance, it seems like another one of those short sighted "you just deal with it" dictates that never works out well for anyone.
