Which is nonsensical from a medical and nutritional standpoint. Americans already eat a predominately plant based diet. It is that diet that has made us fat.

You're correct on our evolution and that's hard to dance around but a vegetarian diet is fine, IMO. Dairy can go long way in making up for the nutrients you'd miss from meat. Vegan diets, OTOH, are a lot more complicated and carry more risks for the uneducated and the lazy.

What we do to farm animals is pretty horrific. I'm not convinced we as human beings have that right. Conservatives lose their $#@! over a clump of cells being aborted, but don't seem to care about the horrors that extremely intelligent and sentient animals go through. Something should have been done long ago about the mistreatment of farm animals, and I think the penalties should be severe.
