Vaccine Booster Moratorium for Wealthy Nations?

I know some don't want to take the shot, and that's all well and fine. To each their own. I don't really want this thread to descend into another vaccine-good/vaccine-bad debate. We have enough threads about that.

    But this isn't okay...

Look, I get it that the WHO wants to vaccinate poorer nations, and those people are just as human as Americans, Israelis, and Europeans. But this is nutty. If the US is making the vaccines, no global rule should determine that those vaccines have to go to South Africa before Americans can have a booster.

“Right now, if you look at how vaccines are being used globally, the uptake rate by high-income countries, upper-middle-income countries, is absorbing too much of the global supply for the lowest-income countries,” Aylward said.

The move comes after Israel announced the country would give booster doses to its elderly population. The Dominican Republic has also been administering booster doses to its population, while neighboring country Haiti only recently secured its first batch of vaccine doses.

People in the U.S. are also finding ways to secure booster shots.

    Global supply?

Does he not understand that we're helping other nations out of the goodness that is the United States? We're not obligated to do that and to do so while intentionally putting Americans at risk is completely unacceptable.

To me, this is an extension of all the white privilege baloney that claims if you have something (anything, really) you don't deserve it so give it up and suffer.

Once again you see the globalist drivel coming from the progressive open borders mindset. Who created and manufactured the vaccinations?

I certainly believe in sharing, but making claims about unfair distribution of "Global Supply" is a lot of Socialist nonsense.

Progressive agendas do not work without a perceived victim. Everyone is a victim these days.
