Are you lost? This is not the thread on Levin's new book, where, btw, you're also lost off-topic.

As for the video, I don't know the host, but Hicks is a prof in philosophy, and Lindsay is a liberal whose Cynical Theories is not only historically factual but tries to put a favorable spin on Critical Theory.

What they discuss are widely known and accepted lines of Western philosophical thinking behind collectivism, Hegel to Marx, so to speak. It's like a freshman course in western philosophy. It provides a framework for understanding those philosophical developments.

If you have nothing intelligent to contribute, why, well, don't go and prove it.

midcan5 showed him some attention so now he'll be begging for more. This may last weeks.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

It's your "Levin the sky is falling attitude"; marxist everywhere but not a stitch of evidence to support it.

    Huh?

Marx is mentioned but only in passing. I think Hicks rated him 3rd rate as a philosopher. Marx wasn't the seed of Marx. But you're not making sense.

Look, I use Levin as an example of a bad American hell bent of pointing fingers of blame, using provocative rhetoric to insult other political opinions and to excite his audience; that exactly what Lush Rumbaugh did and Sean Hannity is at the top of the list as well. We see the very same type of behavior by people like you on this forum every day as well. I posted a short video that I think you should see.

"Collectivism" is an Ayn Rand inspired word that does not exist in this country, never has and never will, but the lying just keeps right on going no matter what our actual history or how the not far right-wing in this country think. You keep setting up these ridiculous scenarios that we hear day after day on alt right radio and TV, so there's nothing real or intelligent about any of it.

This thread has nothing to do with Levin. No one blamed anyone--it was a history of the advance of philosophy since the Enlightenment, particularly French and German philosophers. Did you even try to listen to the op video?

Well, Levin is the alt right master, so if you don't want him mentioned then stop repeating his BS.

And as for the video, I'm not going to spend one second of 55 minutes listening to outright lies about my country or the people in it.

Your thread isn't about this either:
