Hey, my friends call my J.P. I've been signing up for better then a week, I guess y'all had to vet me or something. I've been 11 years on one forum, which was closed down not too long ago. While an Independent at heart, I've been registered D since the Fla. debacle in 2000 where I voted Nader. I wasn't surprised (too much) by the R's flocking to Drumpf, as he said outloud what they had confined to dog whistles for years. I'll answer thoughtful posts & serious attempts at debate.

I'm a left-leaning independent myself. I was too young to vote in 2000 but prolly would've voted for Nader had I been old enough. I'm a very independent person in general: democratic socialist, principled lesbian feminist, and environmentalist and can figure out that Covid is more serious than the common cold (unlike most members of this forum), but I'm also against many commonplace left wing social views and demands like defund/abolish-the-police, critical race theory, gender identity, and am pretty skeptical of Islam (and religion in general really to a point).

About a decade ago, I once briefly belonged to the Leading Light Communist Organization (which was a tiny, pathetic, misogynistic, and very, very stupid post-Maoist cult of internet zombies) for about six months, but have conservatized a lot since then. I subsequently joined the Vermont Progressive Party, but left over significant differences with a more recent platform and presently remain an independent. Voted for Jill Stein in 2016 and would characterize that as a bad mistake, and voted for Joe Biden in 2020 (presently a Biden skeptic though). Favored Bernie Sanders in the last two Democratic primaries and have voted for him in each election he's run in since 2002. Voted to re-elect my state's Republican governor Phil Scott though in both 2018 and last year. So I have a complicated partisan/voting record. Can't currently think of anyone I'd vote for in 2024 except maybe New York Mayoral candidate Eric Adams should he opt to run.

Bottom line: This place is mostly on the conservative side, as in substantially more so than me. I'm here because I'm not allowed on most of the left wing forums anymore, as I'm not woke enough these days. At least conservatives tolerate disagreement rather than classifying it as hate speech. If you're looking for someone to debate in good faith who can figure out that Trump was a bag of $#@! and not the best president in American history, I'm someone you can look to for that. You seem like somebody I'd enjoy debating! Can't wait to see ya around the forums!

Let me see... Anyone who can't even spell "Trump" and believes in dog whistles can't be very bright.


That said, there is a segment of the population here who I am sure will embrace you and praise you for your insightfulness and clever displays of ignorance.


I am going to hope your first post was just an attempt to get someone to notice you and is not indicative of the standard to which you hold yourself on a regular basis.
