Why Is Everything More Expensive Right Now? Let This Stuffed Giraffe Explain

Why Is Everything More Expensive Right Now? Let This Stuffed Giraffe Explain focuses on shipping costs but the point is inflation is not just an increase in consumer cost but increases at every point of production, transportation, and even taxation. The image below doesn't even include inflated costs for resource inputs or capital costs.

Right, and is so everywhere along the supply and demand trail.

One explanation I've heard is those stimulus checks were saved and now are being spent but business is still trying to come out of lockdowns and can't keep up with demands--and that is partly because many are not returning to the workforce.

The biggest influencing factor appears to be that people are not returning to work due in most part to the Feds increasing unemployment benefit payments. That action created the situation due to people making as much or more income by staying home.

Personally, I believe it is political subterfuge to force higher minimum wage that most businesses cannot afford at this time. The majority of business is small mom and pop type endeavors. Vast numbers of those supply line businesses have closed.

Political shenanigans increased the difficulty of returning to stable financial recovery after the politically motivated shutdown.

It's a sick comedy or Greek tragedy, take yopur pick.
