    There is and never has been in the last 2000 years a Democracy, Capitalism, Communist or Socialist government or basically any other term. Often is just whatever value is most pronounced.
    I agree with you but I don't think the observations of Tocqueville's or Nock's are theoretical at all but describe a real, existing way of life. We're raised in it and I know it's very difficult to be objective or try to look at from the outside. Making the effort to do so can make profound changes in your thinking.
