The video was an excuse from a right-wing source about slavery in THIS country. And you're another one that has no idea what a stawman is. Boy you and @Chris must drink together.

It's not an "excuse," it's just history, and every school child for the past century should have learned it.

The point is that slavery in this nation was nothing new although ending slavery was a big step toward a more equal world.


The shift away from slavery began during the Enlightment and the idea spread--due in part to the evolution of Christianity. Yes, the US had slavery from its inception. So? That's been over for 150 years and attempting to rewrite history now isn't working.

Today's far-left ideology is based in seeking revenge for wrongs committed by people who are long, long dead. Since that's impossible to do, they seek to rewrite history to pull it into today's world. Somehow, they have to blame today's whites if they are to succeed. In short, they have to be dishonest.

Ok back to reality, slavery has been around since theres been humans, that includes cavemen...slavery is never right in any context...every race every ethnicity has been enslaved at one time...

I agree with your point. One thing that I try to tell anybody who will listen, and which should be out there is that from the time of our Declaration, it was only 89 years until WE ended slavery. Never mind what went on before 1776, it had nothing to do with US... From the time of our adoption of the Constitution until we ended slavery was only 76 years: good number huh? It took only (life span wise) 2 1/2 generations for US to attack a sordid industry and live up to all men are naturally free. That is something that is not taught in schools either, but should be, and I'm no PhD, I just did the simple math, and it's true. It says a lot about who we are as a people. But nobody seems to know that or talk about it...


The Scots ended slavery early in the 18th century: because Highlanders know all about oppression. So you are quite correct in your time frame of a period wherein people yelled - "STOP!! there's something else going on here".

I must disagree with you on the "far left". Yes BLM etc are far left. What we must remember however, that it tool constitutional amendments! (think about that) to make sure that black people could vote. That slavery could not exist in our country. So that black men and women AND their children, could at least say that they were equal. Congressman Jon Lewis hand to get his head broken in order for people, like in the enlightenment to say "STOP!"

These far left groups have their own agendas and are driven, just like far right groups, so meeting in the middle is where the truth is.

So I don't defend any dishonesty, like a an excuse video hosted by a a right-wing black women, who may have been paid to read a script...
