    I have to strongly disagree.

The military is subservient to the civilian leadership. If Milley went around the President to communicate with a foreign power without his consent or knowledge, that is a violation of everything the military stands for. It is inexcusable and an example should be made of him... a very harsh example.

Treason? I don't know. But he needs to be fired. If he's going to be giving the Chinese government advice, he's going to do it again.

And I'm ready to say the story is true at this point. Milley is not denying it.

That statement has absolutely no basis in fact gamewell45, good lord.
From what I've read and seen on TV it is apparently obvious to most rational people. Even his niece Mary Trump (who is a psychiatrist) has stated that her uncle is mentally unstable so I think there is some truth to his mental stability.

Which one of these psychiatrists clinically examined Trump before unethically announcing a diagnosis ??

    Section 7.3
it is unethical for a psychiatrist to offer a professional opinion unless he or she has conducted an examination and has been granted proper authorization for such a statement.

With some mental illnesses you don't need to do a clinical examination. To a trained psychiatrist, some mental illnesses can be identified by observation by trained personnel. Unethical? Perhaps but it doesn't change their observations.

*Perhaps but it doesn't change their observations.*

Their observations are meaningless without a clinical examination.

That would be a military coup. It is a violation of the oath he took to support and defend the US constitution.

Having observed politics for quite a long time, I'm rarely impressed by the "official" story anymore.

Is General Milley a scumbag? Probably. That's true of a lot of people though. There are people in the establishment who want General Milley gone. He'd warn China, but he apparently didn't warn the neoliberal/neoconservative cabal that Afghanistan was going to fall. These "leaks" are all targeted by the deep state types, of whom I'm nearly always very suspicious. The neoliberal/neoconservative types are furious about Afghanistan, and they probably want to vitiate anyone associated with that fiasco. So I suspect that's why we're seeing these leaks against the Biden administration.

General Milley is not a Donald Trump fan, but I doubt very much that it was Trumpists in the deep state that did this. I think it's the war hawks who are doing it.

In many respects, I think who is doing the leaking is almost more important than the substance of the leak.

Maybe in a court of law, but not in the court of opinion.
