    what a miserable b***ch

I have read Dear Abby since the 60s. Religiously. This woman who doesnt want to let her 16 yr old daughter try on her wedding dress takes the cake. What kind of snakes and spiders are crawling around in this Karen's head?
Her only daughter and just 16. Oh you must believe like me or you will not enter the sancitity of this sacred cloth.
    What a fckkkn Karen...............

DEAR ABBY: I am cleaning out my closet and have decided to sell my wedding dress from 21 years ago. I love the dress; it’s beautiful. But it’s a very large box to store. My 16-year-old daughter has made it clear to me she will never marry. It was difficult for me to accept, as she’s my only daughter. The thing is, she wants to try my dress on. I don’t want her to because she doesn’t agree with the sanctity of marriage or the commitment of it, and I don’t want my wedding dress tried on by anyone who feels this way about marriage. It means more than playing dress-up, and I believe it should be worn only by someone who respects it. Am I wrong? Does my daughter have a right to have hurt feelings over this?
    NOT A GAME OF DRESS-UP

    The daughter is likely gay.

That was my thoughts too. (That... and 'of all the things to get upset about..')

If the mother is going to give her dress away, the one she loves so much, the one that represents the sanctity of marriage.........mom is a bona-fide loon.

Suppose, whomever ends up with the dress doesn't share this woman's view of marriage? Maybe, whomever, will say, "oh yes, I agree with you completely!" Just to get a free wedding dress? They're freaking expensive!

The mother has her position on marriage, that's fine. The dress as being an extension of that mindset, to the detriment of her relationship with her daughter....

    Time for a reevaluation, Mom.

Putting on that dress may inspire the young lady, but at 16 she should be happy that she is not talking about getting married and having kids yet.

The public school she goes to is probably trying to talk her into hormones and a addadictomy.
