University of *ichigan President Mark Schlissel will leave his post in June 2023, one year before his contract expires, the school announced Tuesday. The school's Board of Regents, which has been deeply divided in recent months over Schlissel's performance, will launch a national search for his replacement in the coming months.

The Free Press reported earlier this month that tensions have been rising between some board members and Schlissel in recent years. The early departure is a deal made between Schlissel, those on the board who support him and those on the board who aren't happy with him.

A campus in downtown detroit didn't work out? Shocker. Anyway after seeing his salary I'm sure he will be able to make the mortgage payments. In fact there is a strong belief that I havent really investigated that admin is where the fast rising cost of college has funded above student body, or professorship. Top heavy colleges with "diversity deans" and high priced presidents etc. But since they survive on government money and students can borrow their futre assess off to pay for it well it just keeps going on.
