Isn't that still the case? It makes sense if one isn't beholden to the Out of Africa theory. The historical evidence does suggest the three homosapien developments each mixing with different humanoid ancestors.

Have you noticed lately that every great discovery , cave writing etc is somehow supposedly of Africa?

I noticed this when I was doing my studies for inventions by blacks and the study of black philosophers

It's a short piece. I could not find any of either

If the "scientists " are correct then your wife is actually Asian and came across the land bridge to Alaska and headed south.

NW, as you noted yourself in Post #2 how the word "race" is employed is frequently influenced by social considerations, not to mention politics and history. A physical anthropologist might limit the number of "races" to four or five, but in other contexts there are a whole lot more than that.

Physics would be the more accurate label. I started studying light in chemistry so it is a bad association on my behalf.

Genetic mapping of populations or genome analysis doesn't lie, and all of the Science done in that area points to everyone living today having descended from those who left Africa tens or even hundreds of thousands of years ago. You can hate facts, for whatever reason you might have, but that doesn't change them.

Because some want to believe it does not made it true. Findings are often reached by the desire to have something be true. You can subscribe to the 2 fish crawling out of the pond theory but it is a silly as Adam & Eve.

I will accept space men before either of those.

The concept of race as a rough division of anatomically modern humans (Homo sapiens) has a complicated history. The word race itself is modern and was used in the sense of "nation, ethnic group" during the 16th to 19th centuries and acquired its modern meaning in the field of physical anthropology only from the mid-19th century....

    Etymology

The word "race", interpreted to mean an identifiable group of people who share a common descent, was introduced into English in about 1580, from the Old French rasse (1512), from Italian razza. An earlier but etymologically distinct word for a similar concept was the Latin word genus meaning a group sharing qualities related to birth, descent, origin, race, stock, or family; this Latin word is cognate with the Greek words "genos", (γένος) meaning "race or kind", and "gonos", which has meanings related to "birth, offspring, stock ...
