    The Chevron refinery on the SoCal coast has an offshore pipeline station, don't know if this is the story since they were not named?

    The massive ships can pull up and empty oil without getting near shore. It has worked just fine for many decades without environmental hazards.

    Note CA must import our own oil and make special CA only Gas because of State Environmental regulations. We can't import refined gas from Gulf Coast Texas or anywhere else for example.

    About 125 cubic yards.

    As spills go--not that big of a spill. Still, because it was close to shore, it was a problem.

    Biggest question--why wasn't the location of the pipeline marked on the maps? Why did the ship weigh anchor there?
