Welcome to 2021. We live in a new and different world thanks to the Age of Technology. Like our forefathers it’s best to accept the new realties that face us rather than being the old person who screams about things like Rock and Roll being devil music and the idea that homosexuals are bound for Hell.

If someone on social media whom I never met invited me to their house and mentioned that they did up the basement I'd have to pass.

As do I. As is our experience in life. But we live in a new age of technology and by the way in a pandemic who those that deny it perpetuate it. They know not what they do. They refuse to believe it exists thereby perpetuating the people to have more online interaction. Not that it’s avoidable.
Technology always trumps feelings. Always has always will. The fact remains. If it’s easier to communicate, do business and even relate to each other we will gravitate to it. It’s a new and interesting world in which we live. Best to embrace it rather than scream at the kids to get off our lawn.

It's one thing to be "the old person who screams..." etc. about societal changes in music, what it's okay or not okay to talk about in public, and that sort of thing...and another to comment on current trends that are clearly doing society and its members no favors. Making fun of people who live their lives on social media and think the world should be fascinated with what they had for lunch or what kind of shoes they're buying is not the same as being a religious fanatic and condemning the heathens to Hell, or someone who believes that rock & roll music, Hollywood and the Marvel Cinematic Universe are creations of Satan. There are plenty of aspects of modern popular culture that I simply don't "get", but most of them are relatively harmless and I tend to ignore their existence.
