5 takeaways from the landmark abortion hearing in the U.S. Supreme Court

One of the most important legal cases in modern U.S. history was heard Wednesday by the Supreme Court. It involves abortion and this could be the big one. The justices will consider limiting abortion access — a longstanding dream for some, and a moment dreaded by others. This case is nominally about Mississippi’s one remaining abortion clinic, which wants to keep providing abortions into the 16th week of pregnancy, beyond the limit of a new state law.

It could go one of three ways. The judicial activists who argue with emotional appeal like "stench" for precedence to keep it, the judicial strict constructionists who argue with logic the bad decision to be gutted and returned to the states, or the narrow ruling compromisers who want to modernize to reset the quickening line and find Missippi law constitutional.

I have mixed emotions about Abortion, this abort at any time is insanity and Planned Parenthood should be immediately disbanded.

I dont like abortion but there are issues that NO ONE talks about either the Pro or Against abortion sides.

Babies born to young mothers children themselves, the state meaning taxpayers will pay to raise that kid until its an adult
Babies that young mothers dont want, those children will be put into a foster system in many places full of abuse and neglect..

Theres alot of other issues if you give thought to them....as it stands now we have Who knows how many single parents that MAKE money every month for having a child and its not peanuts...medicaid costs 5 times what medicare does..because it covers EVERYTHING with no restrictions of copays...for example it covers FULL dental even the kind that make your teeth pretty and implants...it covers hearing aids for 6 grand a pair or more...if a mother has 6 out of wedlock kids we pay for them and weve been paying for them every american that gets up in the morning goes busts their ass and pays taxs

For Mississippi, yes, for now. But, option 2 keeps abortion legal for up to 15 weeks while option 3 returns it to the states.

Yes, and I suspect some blue states would go full Northam, allowing for post birth "conversations". Hell, maybe allow up to six months or so.

I try to keep my emotions in check because I am a man of course and being "biological male" from birth so I can't fully understand a woman's position, only my own position on the sanctity of life itself.

That said we have clearly moved away from Abortion as some alleged privacy right or occasional health concern to a full blown cultural celebration on the left. Particularly among feminists (many who won't ever get pregnant for obvious reasons BTW) rather than a so-called "choice" that should be a difficult and personal one. It is even being promoted among High School age girls without parental consent.

I think it should become a States Rights issue, but a compromise I can accept. There should be grounds for regulating the practice with limitations. I do not see that as undermining a right anymore than some reasonable degree of gun laws undermines the second amendment.

The left being total hypocrites of course are for the one and not the other.

There are no “take always” yet. These supposed take-always won’t be known until the detains are announced.
