    Do I have cats ? Part 2

Get into the office digging around for a lost document, so Bunny decides she does not like her usual spot, and lays claim to another one inside the cabinet.

Kick her ass out. Establish limits. That’s what you’re going to do.

There's a built-in desk in the kitchen where we keep a lot of stuff - bags of cat treats, tools, etc. - and one day a couple of years ago my big cat Storm decided he wanted to sleep on one side of it. He started squeezing his way into this space he created, knocking stuff off in the process, so I rearranged stuff and put other stuff elsewhere so as to accommodate him. He even wanted me to serve him his breakfast and dinner up there, which of course I did. This went on for a couple of weeks, then one day he just stopped going up there altogether. I honestly believe that some cats just test their people to see how much they can get away with. The really intelligent cats especially. They get bored and decide they're going to toy with us.

Right next to the giant containers of treats. I'm sure it's a coincidence.

There is no such thing as 'limits' with a cat. Trying to will usually get you a hacked hairball in your slipper.

You can create defined limits for any pet to include a cat.

    You can try.
Cats, unlike dogs, don't say yeah okay and just plod along. They react as they are treated. Sure, you can convince one that the top of the table is a no-go zone, and they likely won't do it in your presence, but don't bet that they won't be getting up there if it currently suits their fancy if you aren't in the room.

Most cat people learn that you offer something as an alternative. Same as you do with a human. If all they hear is no, no, no, they they will just ignore you.

We had two indoor cats for almost 18 years. We had no problem creating limits for what they did snd where they did it. I even taught one how to fetch. She also came when she was called.

My cats also come when called. For furniture scratching, a claw post is offered. Cats like height, so instead of the table top, a perch at the window.

One cat plays a form of soccer with me on a regular basis. I highly doubt the other one would even be interested.
