One funny thing happened at the train station. I ordered an Egg Salad Sandwich. Apparently the Brit idea of an egg salad sandwich is two pieces of bread with a couple of lettuce leaves and a sliced up hardboiled egg inside.

I'm sure an egg salad sandwich in an American train station would be better

The last time I was in London my friend insisted we go to a pub for a pie and mushy peas. Peas are one of the few vegetables I do not like and she well knew this but insisted I might like them mushy. She was wrong!

The pie was pretty good if you could find any of it not swimming in the mushy peas but, to me, it was spoiled by those horrible peas. They were everywhere!

I like a Shepherds Pie and buy these:

I understand the traditional Brit version is lamb, but in America ground beef. Something I picked up at Renaissance Faire in SoCal long ago......

The pie was pretty good but I couldn't eat the pastry because it was literally covered in mushy peas from top to bottom and the pastry is half the experience of eating a good pie. Oh well.

To be honest British people (we don't like to be referred to as brits) don't really see Americans as fat and stupid. Americans are perceived to be loud and obnoxious.
