I’m not sure why the NFL and other professional sports leagues can’t seem to divest themselves from politics. It’s obvious that fans are turning away from these organizations.
Most people want sports to be a refuge from politics.
When you actually attend a game you don’t see this in the stadiums. One needs to be informed to learn about these things.

Cons were very upset about kneeling in the NFL. It magnifies issues such as these by a lot, given that they are already upset that the NFL showed support for black people and their lives mattering. It doesn’t take much to trigger them these days.

Back to thread subject, and my countless decades as an NFL fan it was never political until the modern era. First when some feminists falsely claimed that abuse of women climbed during the Super Bowl as I recall and that blew over quickly, and then the much more recent BLM protests. It has much less to do with conservatism as not wanting your Sunday Sport ruined with WOKE political messaging. Try playing the game and keep your personal politics off the playing field was always my message and that of reasonable actual fans.
That the NFL would sell out to China like the NBA is no surprise at this point. Having train wrecked the American profit model they are willing to sell out to communist oppression for an easy dollar, and it will have a very bad ending of course.
