Well this old laptop can't handle it as my main computer so, while I haven't tried replugging in the fans on the Predator, it's time to shop. Looked on line a bit. Not so impressed with desktops, don't think I want a big footprint tower on my desk or on the floor. Laptops are just as powerful and more versatile. At Walmart I was reminded of an old interest in Chromebooks. They're cheap, $250-500. A decent Windows laptop is > $1000.

Well, at least you have options to choose from.

    Too many.

My thinking right now is I mainly use the computer from browsing the Internet. All my office and document needs are met by Google. I use few apps installed on the computer. I don't plan to get into gaming or graphics. So I don't need a full desktop. So a mini might do depending on ports and forgetting about adding cards. I'm looking at Chromebooks though because it'll also run Android apps I use on my phone.

Actually, one less as I think my old laptop running Linus just dies, froze up anyhow. So now I'm on my newest laptop running windows 11.

You could have them networked, so all the resource heavy activity takes place on the mini. Plus it's running Red Hat (Linux).

It seems they build computers now just to handle Windows and Windows keeps rebuilding itself to overwork the computers.
