Which Over-the-Counter Pain Medication Is Best?

It depends on what type of pain you have. Is it caused by inflammation or not?

    Also see the contraindicators.

Depends what the issue is. Sometimes topical pain relievers work better then a pill.

Occasionally, I use Voltaran (sp?) for joint pain and lower back pain. The stuff is amazing.

I avoid pain killers OTC or prescription, I have a high tolerance for pain and I just push past it and live my life

To me pain killers disguise pain and your pain is designed to ALERT and WARN you somethings not right

I have some of that too. Until recently it was prescription only in the US. I got mine in Mexico and Canada. Now I can buy it at CVS.

    Me too.

I did get tendonitis really bad tendonitis in my wrists recently and had prescription steroids that are anti-inflammatory. I have been using OTC after that if it seemed that the tendonitis was coming back.

My first use was via a friend's sharing some from his prescription. I wouldn't normally do that, but I was in agony and had a 2 week wait to see the doc.

I hit Walgreens the day after it became available (I kept track) and that was the loan source. Since then, you can even get it at WalMart if you are inclined.

The stuff really works for me. It's not cheap, but when you need it, you need it.

I use what I need to, when I really need to. I have several chronic pain issues, so finding the best for the particular situation is important.

I find the juice of a quart of gin works wonders on pain.

With all due respect, the only thing gin is good for IMO is to induce vomiting.... my days of alcohol consumption are long over, but when I felt the want, vodka was my choice.

Alcohol is great at masking pain. Enough of it and they can do surgery on you.

If your pain is caused by inflammation, alcohol will likely make the condition worse in the long term since it is inflammatory.
