Actually, those blue multilayer ‘paper’ masks or medical masks are effective if used correctly. So are multilayer cloth masks. They’re not as effective as N95 masks, but they will reduce the risk of transmission. Those single layer neck tubes and bandannas aren’t effective.

But anything that stops droplets of saliva can help reduce risk of transmission.

But people shouldn’t be using those cloth masks indoors. I switched to a four layer non woven disposable masks months ago.

There are simply no studies which prove that definitely. The CDC has finally admitted what normal people have known all along. Universal masking for people who aren't sick, is, and always has been nothing more than political theater. If you aren't sick, you aren't spewing covid laced droplets of spittle. If you are sick, or even asymptomatic, cloth masks actually exacerbate the problem by aerosolizing the coronavirus. Virtually nobody is wearing surgical grade masks, everybody is wearing the cheap Chinese paper masks that they are selling everywhere. So, as usual you are full of $#@!. The only people who should be wearing masks, are those who are exhibiting symptoms, or actually sick with covid. Oh and, All of that face touching with dirty hands? Yeah, that's really a good thing.
