The so-called pedophilia portrayed is a cartoon interpretation from "Symposium" so unless we're going to start banning Greek mythology, Greek history, and so on... Other "nudity" included a cartoon with pubes (oh my gaaawsh) and a fantastic portrayal of menstruation. Oh, and a blow job, but you don't actually see anything and it's not an actual penis. The horror. There are, quite literally, more graphic and disturbing images on Wikipedia.

But please, clutch your pearls. I guarantee very few teenagers wanted to read this boring book (at least until it was banned).

Is there anything you would find distasteful and should not be taught to our children? I get the distinct impression to you on the left nothing moral or within the bounds of proper behavior is out of bounds to be destroyed. The uh object undergoing fellatio is, according to the storyline, a strap-on dildo. The protagonist is apparently a female teen who identifies as a male. So technically it's not a penis.

That said, while I'm sure there are kids struggling with their sexuality in public school, I don't think this graphic novel is appropriate anymore than a graphic novel about heterosexual sex would be appropriate. A novel that instead writes about a teen's struggle with their sexuality from an emotional perspective, would be a different matter.
