Breathalyzer is normally 6 months. 1 year for refusing a chemical test.

They can't forcibly test you with a breathalyzer. They will not force a blood test. Then will mark you down as a refusal.

If they take you to a hospital for a blood test then it will take several hours. That means you will be burning off about 1 drink an hour. Then you leave them arguing with your lawyer about body chemistry.

Your charges will almost certainly get reduced when you get an attorney involved unless you were flat out wasted.
Your lawyer will get you driving again in less than 3 months and you will save a great deal of money.
In court it is your word against the cops anyways.

Actually no. Since I have career in an industry that entertains/entertained heavily then my salespeople were not always so lucky. We give them the same advice and it gets them back on the road much faster for at least work related functions.
Thinking all cops are honest or even correct is a huge mistake. Believing that they do not have expectations or quotas is a big mistake.
