    Trump’s Qualifications for the Presidency

Trump’s main qualifications for the presidency included the following:

    > He had business experience: He ran a small family business which he ran into the ground six times. (During his first run for office, he promised to run our country like he ran his business. And he kept his promise. And he nearly ran our country into the ground.)

    > He had foreign policy experience: He ran the Miss Universe pageants. According to witnesses, he would barge into the contestants’ dressing rooms, while the contestants were getting ready for a show. (Maybe he wanted to discuss “foreign policy” issues with them.)

    > He had military experience: He attended a military high school. (When he graduated, he knew more about ISIS than our generals.)

    > He had experience as an educator: He ran Trump University, which was NOT a university, and was ACTUALLY a scam. Eventually, he was sued for 25 million, and the so-called university was shut-down. (Trump U is now known as “Trump Screwed U”.)

    > He had acting experience: He had the leading role on the Apprentice show. According to the show’s staffers, Trump would not prepare for the Apprentice episodes. (He often used that same strategy when he was president. For example, he never prepared for his meetings with foreign leaders. As a result, these leaders easily played him.)

    > He was a Vietnam War draft dodger: However, he did gallantly serve our country during that war. That is: He bravely “guarded” the New York City night clubs. And he did so even though he had a serious medical condition; that is, he had a bad case of “phony bone spurs”. (I don’t understand why he didn’t award himself the Congressional Medal of Honor for his service.)

    > He is a serial liar. And when he isn’t lying, he’s making stuff up. (During his time in office, he told over 30 thousand lies. I’ve heard some people say that Trump will be an historic president. Apparently, they were right. If I’m not mistaken, 30 thousand is historic.)

Apparently, Trump thought that these “qualifications” qualified him to head the LARGEST, and the MOST COMPLEX, organization in the world. (What was he thinking?) Apparently, his fans thought so too. (What were they thinking?) And sadly, he and his fans STILL think so (What are they thinking?)

Trump’s fans will say that, despite his lack of adequate qualifications for the presidency, they like his record on judicial appointments and his record on the economy.

Trump’s fans will say that he appointed a lot of federal judges. Let’s look at that:

    > Trump did appoint a lot of federal judges (but, Biden appointed more). Trump also appointed three Supreme Court judges (thanks to Moscow Mitch and the Radical Right Republicans (the RRRs) in the Senate). Unfortunately for MANY Americans, these Trump-appointed judges will probably support harmful RRR policies, and they will do so for many years to come. These harmful RRR policies include the following:
    * The RRR’s war on women. (We can see that happening now in Texas, and it has the support of the Supreme Court.)
    * The RRR’s war on programs that help the sick, the poor, and the middle class. (The RRRs never liked these programs. And they like to call these programs “socialism”, in order to generate fear of them.)
    * The RRR’s war on the environment. (Many of the RRRs are owned by the polluters.)
    * The RRR’s war on science. (Many of the RRRs have an aversion to facts, because many facts are not consistent with their view of reality.)
    * And the RRR’s “pro-Covid” and “anti-democracy” policies. (Apparently, the RRRs are more afraid of democracy than they are of Covid. In fact, the RRRs in some states are now passing laws to undermine our democracy, and laws to promote the spread of Covid.)

Thus, when it comes to his judicial appointments: The Trump legacy = fewer rights and fewer safety nets for average Americans + more pollution and more Covid. (Good job, Trump!)

Trump’s fans will also say that he was good for our economy. Let’s look at that:

    > Trump’s tax breaks did benefit average Americans to some degree. But they benefited wealthy Americans even more ... FAR more. Furthermore, those tax breaks increased our national debt by 1.3 trillion dollars. (And during his time in office, our national debt increased by nearly 7.8 trillion dollars. Is that what Trump meant when he said that he could eliminate our national debt in eight years? Apparently, he learned his “debt elimination” skills at Trump University.)

    > The economy was doing ok under Trump until Covid arrived. (It should be noted that Trump inherited a GOOD economy from Obama and Biden. It should also be noted that Trump’s GROSS mismanagement of the Covid crisis eventually derailed our economy. This left a serious economic mess, in addition to a serious Covid mess, for Biden to clean-up. So far, Biden and his team have made significant progress in cleaning-up these messes. And this is despite the fact that Biden has had no “clean-up” help from the RRRs in Congress, lead by Moscow Mitch and Crazy Kevin Coup Coup McCarthy.)

Apparently, running a small family business into the ground six times, and being able to say “You’re fired!” on a TV show, does NOT make you an economic genius. And, it does NOT mean that you alone can fix it. Imagine that! Who’da thunk?

Trump was never qualified, but that really doesn't make a difference. Enough people were fooled into thinking that he was that he was elected. He'll go down in history as one of the handful of worst presidents ever, but his cultists don't care. He's their guy.

I don't believe he will. When a little time passes and the hysterical Left rants give way to scholarly review of Trump's presidency, historians will find that despite incredible and continuous opposition and attempts to undermine him, he was a very effective President... far more effective than either his predecessor or his successor, both of whom will go down in the books as ineffective and destructive.

Just short of one year in office Joe Biden has earned the distinction of being the most counter productive and ineffective president in US history. TDS can’t change that.

Trump bought into the Great Realignment. He followed and won. Meanwhile, while the left is still fighting Trump, the movement he followed carries on.
