I listened to Art Bell when he did nothing but politics. Remember, "Charlie, the liberal from California?" lol And one night, Art suddenly changed his show into the paranormal.

Art Bell was sort of a wacky person though. I like him better than George Noory. I like George Knapp even better. Jimmy Church is another good one. I haven't listened to C2C in a long time, does Ian Punnet still guest host?

Mr Bell was a firm believer in alien visitation, ghost, mythical creatures roaming the earth and all things paranormal. Mr Bell took his own life in 2018. I think its rather appropriate that he is still on the radio 4 years later since he was a confirmed believer in the dead walking among us.

Frankly, I think he makes as much sense dead as most of the mainstream media does about Donald Trump stories.
I haven’t listened to his show in quite a bit, but my take is a bit different,

His guests and callers are screened for whackadoodles, I doubt AB believes a lot of it … but if you can claim you once worked at an underground alien prison base where humans were harvested … Art would let you run though your ‘hypothesis.’

I found it entertaining usually, credible seldom.

    Art is dead.

Left coast to coast around 2001. The new show is very different.

Joe Pyne was the fore runner to Morton Downey Jr. He was rude as hell, and bombastic. His show ran during the 60's
when I lived in the Ellay area. His guests were very controversial, Nazi's, devil worshippers, religious nut bags, etc.
The John Birch Society was big back then, and goofy Sam Yorty was mayor of Ellay. Late night talk shows were big then, you had Joey Bishop, who would cry a lot, and most all were Leftists. It was a fun time!

LOL! Dick Cavett was my favorite talk show host back then. He was always courteous, and would ask penetrating questions of his guests. Some of his shows are on You Tube.

When I was a kid in the '60s the local independent t.v. station in Indianapolis used to run the syndicated Joe Pyne show really late at night. They sometimes put on a similar show hosted by a man named Alan Burke.

I liked Cavett, too. He interviewed people you didn't ordinarily see on the regular talk shows, which were all just network advertising fronts.

I remember the time he was having some kind of a pissing contest with the producers of his show and he was obligated to tape one or more shows when he didn't want to. He got really grumpy and just sat there in his shirtsleeves and was rude to everyone who came on. It was ugly and hard to watch. But, yeah, normally he was great, and his show always had a more intelligent and educated atmosphere - less focused on show biz gossip and people pushing their latest movie or album, as most evening talk shows were back then and remain to this day.

'Really late' when I was a kid was 10 PM or 10:30 PM. Carson came on at 9 PM then, lol. Then Tom Snyder's late show came along later in the era, at midnight. Don't remember exactly when the 24 hour runs came along, they gradually creeped in, first on weekends running old horror flicks and other stuff. Now I have dozens of channels running 24/7 and nothing to watch but reruns of old shows from all decades.
