Or rather my wife, who is gradually becoming a believer in my rants did. A week ago or so the morning show ( one of them) reported that 1% of our oil came from Russia. Then I heard her talking at the TV ( apparently that's contagious, who knew) because they reported 3% without any reference to the 1% report. Today it's 4%

I'm not sure what the game is exactly but I'm guessing MSM, Biden admin and Exxon and BP are involved.

I don't think it is a lie. It is just that journalists are not very smart people and neither are the staff.

The US imports 4% of Russia's exported oil. That makes up ~8% of the oil the US uses here.

So I share your concern for the numbers. Were they exaggerating to prevent Americans from pushing for ending imports or are they lying later to try to minimize the concern of Americans?

Then we have to remember that countries like Russia and Iran only refine what they need and ship mostly all crude. The US refineries often import oil and then ship out the refined chemicals and fuels. Does that account for the differences?

Well American oil is more damaging than foreign oil some how. I haven't figured it out yet but that is what their actions clearly indicate

We are still importing oil from Russia. The ban on Russian oil imports won't come into effect for three more months.
