Anybody read that lately? Musk offers to buy all shares of Twitter for like 54 bucks a share so he can own it and make it more free speech friendly?
What would be the implications of that aside from obviously diddling with the stock prices of Twitter and other social media companies?

And if the intent is to provide more free speech access how will it impact existing users?

He would also remove it from public exchanges and go private with it.

The only real question is why anyone would pay 50 billion for a company that is losing money? There would have to be huge cuts to make it profitable.
It is hard to blame TikTok when their revenues keep climbing but their profits fall

Looking at their top accounts tells you that Twitter is old news.

Elon's offer puts the board in a bind. Best and final offer. If nobody comes out with a better offer and the board refuses Elon's (with that much profit for the shareholders) the board is opening itself up to lawsuits for breach of its fiduciary duty. Which is also why Elon didn't join the board. Then had he criticized Twit, he could be sued the same way.

I have the inference Musk is playing 3d chess with them while they are reading the rules to checkers. And he's a few moves ahead.

I'm watching it be a use if they refuse and their stocks bombs I'll buy at the bottom and then when they come back I'll make a handsome 30%.

Elon market shenanigans have hurt the stupid in the market but they have benefited me as a fundamental investor.

Twitter is currently dominated by Safe Space Basement Troll Progressives. That might not change that much if Musk stops the political censorship, but they will no longer have absolute reign!
