Isildur | Legends of Middle Earth

While in the LoR books Isildur represents the flaws of man, the back story is much deeper.

Jeff Bezos made a deal for the rights with Tolkien's family and Warner's; each got $125 million and Bezos will spend $715 million including the rights to produce a new series based on 'prequels' for his Amazon Prime channel. That's a steep price for a series that may bomb, but he probably needs the right-off anyway. I read the trilogy and The Hobbit way back when, and liked it, but I never need to read it again. I liked Ken Kesey's Sometimes A Great Notion better, though not in the same genre of course. Sci fi and fantasy got stale for me pretty early, probably thanks to how well written LOTR was compared to the majority of the stuff. I liked Ursula Leguin's early stuff as well.

Hopefully the directors don't have the characters running around and speaking lines as if they were wooden zombies, tryiing for 'gravitas' instead of realistic portrayals of live beings.

What's hilarious about the commies fake outrage is that their Hero Marx was himself a rather ardent racist.

The prequels do look to be Woke.

Yes, apparently so, which will render them silly and worthless as art or morality tales.

This is a good victory. Which is more important. Military victory or moral victory. Lord of the Rings.
