Florida set to become the next state to allow Constitutional Carry

I am of two minds with this. While I support the Second Amendment as a gun permit holder I am bummed out that gun owners can now simply start carrying guns with no permits. I send hundreds of dollars and hours of class room training to not be arrested for carrying a gun. I realize there are 21 states that currently do not require gun permits with little or no issues in those states. I still feel foolish for taking the courses and paying the fees in two states

Don't feel foolish. By getting your license, you also get the benefit of reciprocity agreements with other states. Those who only practice Constitutional Carry do not.

In Virginia they waive the training requirement for vets. I am not sure why since most enlisted do not train with pistols. I did extensively and ran pistol ranges and training.

Ohio recently passed Constitutional Carry, it goes into effect on June 12th. I still plan to enroll my wife and I in some safety and training courses, even though we won't be applying for concealed carry permits. While I have been shooting long guns since I was a kid, I have limited experience with pistols, and my wife has none.

It is a good idea to get training even if it isn't required. Go beyond target plinking and get some tactical training.
