LOL. Times change. Now the churches want a financial trail of donations if you want to baptize the children or get married. You can mail it is but put in in your pre-printed envelope.

Oh, horse$#@!. None of the many churches I went to knew a thing about what I gave. I was never asked either. No one has to give money to baptize or marry.

I have a protestant friend who married a Catholic man, and she had to have her former marriage annulled before they could get married. She was slightly upset at first, because she has three children from her first marriage and she was worried how her children would feel about that.

I wasn't even aware the Church would annul a marriage like that--especially since she and her former husband weren't even Catholic. But, they did. Now, she's very happily married to a pretty nice guy.

Catholics were obviously thinking ahead and put something in place for their members. I don't think the Southern Baptist Church has any such provision, so those folks I fear are going straight to hell upon expiration. If they're literalists, that is.

Marriage outside the church is not recognized. Why would she have to get an annulment?

My wife and I were married at a civil wedding. The Church still doesn't recognize our marriage. (We don't care.)

He doesn't have to explain that. He offers eternal salvation. We should give him something in return.
