I didn't write that Jesus said it. The author of the Revelation did. $#@! at him.

No. That's why we keep searching for answers. I don't pretend to know all the answers. I do have a believe in a Supreme Being that I don't completely understand. I also know the vast majority of human kind have some believe in such a Being. Arthur C. Clarke once wrote a story entitled the "The Nine Billion Names of God" with the premise that once all the 9 billion names are discovered the universe will end. Maybe, maybe not.

For the record I am a believer in the Nicene Creed

I believe Christians need to relook at their Bible and rid it of the clearly tall tales.
Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.

Given the lack of evidence supporting supreme beings I do not believe in any of them.

What do you think the Nicene Creed says and means?

That's what Thomas Jefferson did with the New Testament. He rewrote it--you can find it online--it's called the Jefferson Bible. He removed all of the hocus-pocus and superstitionism, but he kept the rest of the stories because they offer moral lessons.

At the end, Jesus' body is put in a cave, they roll a stone to block the entrance, and that's it. No resurrection. No ascension.

I have no objections to the resurrection story. I do not believe it but do not object to it. I do object to the Noah flood story as it stands without any corroborating evidence. Further it is based on a far earlier mesopotamian flood story, one that is more realistic. I also object to Joshua's battle story as it is impossible. Further, I object to claiming Jesus told John things long after Jesus was dead.

If you believe human beings have innate rights, you must believe or you'll need to give that up.

It seems pretty clear. Read it.

Who cares? Jefferson suffered from the cognitive dissonance as Mister V.

I believe all living things have a right to their own lives. Our other rights flow from this right. No gods are required.

Cool. I am in the company of Jefferson (and probably Madison).
