    I am looking for stories.

"today, for reasons including demographic disaster and the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, China is facing the end of the stunning economic growth that made it possible for Xi to assert that the “great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation” was at hand. The China of the 2020s will be a country whose coercive capabilities are more intimidating than ever as its economic dynamism fades. That could be the worst possible combination for the world."

When China's economy collapse I think it will take us down with it.

"China does boast many apparent advantages. It has an enormous domestic market and is the leading trade partner of roughly 130 countries around the world. It is making concerted investments in artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, and other critical technologies. If the United States doesn’t up its game, a national commission chaired by former Google CEO Eric Schmidt warned in 2021, China could become the premier “AI superpower.” But look closer, and China’s trajectory starts to seem more tenuous."

China has long standing economic issues relating to their rich coastal cities contrasted by their extremely poor interior. Their per capital GDP sucks. #97 for 2022. And now the strict zero COVID lockdowns threatens to crush the rich regions. And this is hurting the global economy as their cheap $#@! doesn't move into global trade.

China's economy skids as lockdowns hit factories, retailers

Chinese civilization has been around for thousands of years. There is almost nothing it has not seen or experienced at this point. China's economy is obviously very bubbly, but their population is so large and so collectivist in their outlook, that they are capable of absorbing large shocks better than most other states.
Power always thinks it has a great soul, and vast views, beyond the comprehension of the weak. And that it is doing God service when it is violating all His laws.

I am mostly concerned about what happens to us when their economy collapses.

We should be spending that 40 billion, not on Ukraine, meaning our defense contractors, but on returning manufacturing to the US.

I recall way back when China was hitting around 4% GDP but it was not sustainable. While the CCP dabbles in Capitalism they still have the basic instincts that demand State Control.

They have state capitalism. And worse, they still have their ancient corruption customs in business.
