The "great replacement theory" is not a GOP thing. It is a fringe thing. Fringe people on the left and right believe it but of course they come from different view points.

I don't know where this theory originated, but the hard left has been giddy for many years over the predictions that whites will be the minority in America in the near future.

After researching census data, newspapers, books, court records, and other materials, they discovered a remarkable reversal of conventional wisdom: Many early German immigrants did not feel compelled to learn English quickly. In fact, they appeared to live and thrive for decades while speaking exclusively German.

At one time it was required, it was part of the citizenship test.

At one time we wanted literate people, who could contribute to the country, not non English speaking, no skills people, who wouldn't assimilate.

This "theory" is being passed around in the media, and the GOP is being blamed for racism based on trying to stop the Great Replacement, which is just an increase in the population of what we now view as minority races and a decrease in white population by percentage.

There is no deep dark agenda that wants whites to suffer by becoming a minority. There is an agenda to greatly increase the working force in this nation to be able to pay for the social programs we have that are top-heavy.

But, most of all. A reduction in whites and an increase in minorities doesn't spell doomsday for anyone.

Cultures shift and societies rise and fall. No one's trying to get rid of the white race.

Don't buy into hateful bull$#@! that divides us. Ignore it.

We do need strong immigration laws but not to keep Mexicans out--rather to ensure that immigrants all get a fair shake.

Are you distinguishing between legal and illegal immigrants. And I doubt most Mexicans, and others, would want to leave if there was less corruption and greater opportunities at home. But these sorts of investigations into the 'root cause' are discouraged because of potential charges of racism, imperialism, etc.

All Kamala Harris had to do was ask those people at the border why left their home, families and culture - but instead she talks to the leaders who create the circumstances. They don't want the genuine problems addressed.

When people say 'race' I think they often mean 'culture' and people are often more interested in protecting their culture than their race.

It's culture and its parameters which define us and generally makes us who we are. We can see Ukrainians fighting in defense of their country but without the Ukrainian culture and it's history it's just land.
