OSU's Day Receives Contract Extension Through 2028 with Salary bump to $9.5 Mil

Under the terms of a new contract that was approved by the Ohio State Board of Trustees’ Talent, Compensation and Governance Committee on Wednesday, Day will receive annual compensation of $9.5 million per year with a two-year contract extension through the 2028 season.


The new contract, which is subject to approval by the full board on Thursday, ties Day with Michigan State’s Mel Tucker, who received a 10-year, $95 million contract in November, for the highest-paid coach in the Big Ten. Nationally, it ties Day with Tucker and LSU’s Brian Kelly for the third-highest-paid coaches behind USC’s Lincoln Riley ($10 million) and Alabama’s Nick Saban ($9.9 million).

Well, the University certainly has its priorities right. The highest paid professor at OSU is about $350,000.00 and in my opinion that is too much as well.
