Why do left wingers assume Deist are atheist? There are Christian Deist who believe in the Gospel of Christ, they simply don't believe He was divine. They believe we were created by a Supreme Being who doesn't interfere in our lives. That doesn't make them anti religious or atheistic as so many "Progressives" want to believe.

Thomas Jefferson was a very liberal thinker in the classical meaning of the word.

Midcan on the other hand is nothing more than a phony intellectual leftist who refuses to debate. Jefferson and John Adams debated constantly and were good friend until they both died the very same day.

Thomas Jefferson was more of what was once called a “classical liberal,” or maybe a libertarian.

A classical liberal has no connection at all to modern liberalism.
