I have heard that if you hollow out a cantaloupe and leave it out they will crawl into it over night then you can take them away and release them or what ever. Also if you break eggshells and put them all around your garden they wont cross them because it would cut them.

    Late to the slug party!

Sluggo works well, the Plus version is basically Iron Phosphate, and Spinosad, a good bacteria...It does actually attract slugs, but once they ingest it, they are gone in just a couple of days.

Or know of any good treatments?
They might be slow, but the little buggers will travel up to a mile each night to find food.

A loop of copper wire around the plant will deter them. Eggshells, as JAP mentioned will also deter them. Beer gets them drunk, and have you ever hear a bunch of slugs singing at 2:00am???

Slugs show up where there is long term moisture, so keeping the soil a bit drier (if possible) should also reduce their attendance.

lol Not sure I could travel a mile a night.

I still kill 8-10 every time and 20'2 after/during rains. But they are less lively , if that word can ever be used to desribes these creatures,. I think my diamateous earth may be taking it's toll. But it washes away easily.
I will probably order some slug go in case.

I'm well over 300 of the slimy critters destroyed but they keep coming. I find dead slugs but I find many live ones chewing on cabbage "protected" by my diatomaceous earth. Slug go will be here next week. They primarily like cabbage. So does my true nemesis the gopher. Before they showed up a few years ago I did not know that Caddy Shack would turn into a documentary about my life! But that is another thread altogether.

Get some chickens. They'll eat all your slugs.

I'd prefer not to think about the chickens I eat, consuming slugs. LOL. Although I could, it has become customary for people to just let their chickens wander in the road .
