So that is what people think of here.

J&J went south quickly because of clots and other complications.
I really don't know much about the vaccines and got two shots, but even a layman like myself knew the Chinese masks were useless. And because of that all of it - shutdowns, school closures and all of it - became suspect. Now, after watching what's going on in Europe and others areas of the world, I'm having none of it.

I understand they may begin masks and shutdowns again this fall but know I'll have none of it, at least in this mask thing which is perhaps the only area in which I can refuse to participate. I do believe I'll have a lot of company too.

It is a shame they were not honest from the start and just give people best practice suggestions. People may have been more likely to accept them and the government medical agencies would not have lost their credibility.

The CDC in the USA is almost immediately rejected now. They tried to pretend they had all the answers. Then the public found out they were not as smart as they pretended, but then also willing to lie about it.

No sane person argues that government reacted reasonably and properly to the pandemic. It has been the most egregious example of abuse of power Ain history, but this idea that the vaccines are killing people is insane as well.

The way government handled it fed the whacked out conspiracy theorists unsupervised running loose out there.

You may quantify that response being worth the risk but it happens. But people die from the flu shot and MMR vaccines.

Carl Young is talking about Astra's vaccine which is the same thing.

Yes, the public has always trusted the government in the past regarding health epidemics but not so now. And the thing is that the problem wasn't just confined to the CDC but to public health organizations throughout the world, from the WHO down. Only Sweden, I believe, ignored this onslaught on human rights and freedoms and then came out the better for it.

It was disease used as propaganda and an excuse to remove civil liberties, the first time in the western world this has happened but perhaps not the last, given its success.

One way to end any 'conspiracy theories', as in the last Presidential election, is to have a full public enquiry with witnesses testifying, under oath, in a public setting. There is no rational explanation as to why this cannot be done or why anyone would protest against such an investigation.

That would not change anything. Nothing would be settled or solved in that manner. The testimony would not give the results some are looking for.

I think people could live with the results if a public hearing was held and all parties allowed to speak under oath. Why not?

This has been done many times in the past and then the matter put to rest. What 'result' would the public want except an honest hearing?
