Again I see this plank in the Texas Republican platform as a rallying cry, a Mel Brook's harumph. And I think it's backfired already seeing how it's divided conservatives.

It's exposed the milquetoast "conservatives" who keep doing the same thing and expecting different results.

It would also really not be difficult to institute a blockade against Texas that would strangle it economically. You actually mentioned Cuba in another post and asked if economic sanctions against it have caused it to fall. The answer to that is "No, it hasn't fallen, but the standard of living certainly has". Do you think Texas would want to become another Cuba?

This is what I am talking about when I say you go off on some emotional tirade without thinking things through. You do it all the time on almost every subject you discuss. It is why you get laughed at so often.

I was serious. You folks would support what I said. Would I be ok with the United States sending in troops to suppress an armed rebellion against the government of the United States? I called for the United States to violently suppress the secessionist rebellions against the government that took place in Portland and Seattle in 2020. So, yes. We know that you would not.

You said you supported using military force against Texas if it seceded. You also falsely characterized secession as an "armed rebellion" in an attempt to provide your position with some semblance of credibility. If there is a real difference between your feelings now and the feelings of the British in 1776, I cannot see it.
