Texas cannot stand alone as a nation. No state can. If the US decided to institute an economic embargo on them, it would strangle them in no time. If the US decided to take back militarily, Texas would fall in short order.

No state could successfully secede on its own or without the consent and support of the US government. It is fantasy thinking to believe otherwise.
But reality is that Texas would also not have to do it alone.
IMO so many other states would want to go that it would force a Constitutional Convention of the States.

Then we can redefine the Amendments that the courts so badly distorted.
    Let's go Brandon !!!

If Texas secedes and that starts a war............. I doubt Oklahoma would be friendly soil for those USA soldiers to fight from. Sure, there's a lot of competition between Oklahoma and Texas, but OK won't become a battle ground for that.

My hope is that if Texas secedes, Oklahoma goes with it.......

    Yes, it can.
Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.

    You do err.

Texas would not stand alone. There would be no reason for any free state to remain in the union of states.

You have given this no thought. Don't pretend you have.

You would not be in trouble against the existing US military.

Or if they call the local military base and orders them to fly all the fighters out of state. It's potentially a very messy situation. That's why I'm not crazy about the secession idea. Better to arrange an even split.

No doubt the Dems would demand to get more than 50% since they are in the majority, as they always like to point out. But that's actually very debatable. There are more Dems than Republicans, but if you add in the Independents, the Moderates probably have a majority. In my lifetime there have been eight Democrat presidential terms and eight Republican presidential terms (counting Nixon/Ford as two terms).
    Come take them.

The US military could not defeat Texas.

I think few people would be willing to get their ass shot off trying to enforce Biden's will.

...but...our fire ants and turkey buzzards are always hungry, so any and all are welcome to come on down and try.

If America waged war after some bull$#@! interpretation of the unconstituionality of that act. What if they simply shut down the grid? Would it take any more than that? Imagine the chaos.
TX has an independent grid, although it is connected to the east and west grids.
