I think I would suggest one prohibiting deficit spending and requiring a balanced budget.

I think a rewording of the Second Amendment to eliminate the prefatory clause (A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State) and reinforce its operative clause (the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed) would be good.

I would also suggest term limits... One six year term for President. Two five year terms for the Senate and three three year terms for the House. I also think there should be some changes in the way the Supreme Court operates, particularly in regard to its relationship with the Legislature. I kind of know what I am thinking there, but I need to figure out how best express it.

I also think the Commerce Clause should either be eliminated or rewritten to greatly limit its scope. There have been far too many abuses of it.

As I stated earlier though, I have great concerns about such a Convention. I think it could backfire and have the opposite of the desired effect.

The Commerce Clause could be clarified. SCOTUS fixed it, but Congress still gets it wrong.

Repealing the 17th may fix a lot of our current problems.

It does when you reduce the scope of the Federal Government. That is the entire drive of the Conservative movement.

If people want big government then they belong with the liberals.

The fear tactic of "they can raise taxes" is a not even valid. They can raise taxes anytime they want through simple legislative process for the new year or add a National Sales Tax aka sin tax. There is nothing stopping them that would disappear.

The only thing that stops them is voters.

The problem with federal taxes is that almost half don't pay income taxes. So they don't have any reason not to vote for candidates who want to raise them. Perhaps people who don't pay income taxes should not be able to vote in federal elections.

We did not defeat the Taliban but we did arm them reasonably well. Why couldn't we defeat the Taliban? They maintained the support of the populace. Do you think Texans fighting in Texas for Texan independence will be any different?

There will be plenty of countries willing to arm Texans in their fight against tyranny.

They're in the possession of the military. But people in the military are from all over, and stationed all over. A soldier stationed in Texas may not be loyal to Texas over the US.

...and those Texans stationed in other places may be loyal to Texas.

As I said, the Union is paramount. I love my country, all 50 states, and keeping it together is more important then breaking it to pieces like leftists would like to see happen. Seceding seems counterproductive. We're more powerful together, than apart.

For the record, we moved from Kalifornia to South Dakota. More conservative than TX. LOL

My wife is from South Dakota. Alpena...a little town "east river " of 300.
We will be driving up next month if my injections take and have any effect.
We will probably stay in Rapid City with her sons.

...and yes...SD is more free than TX.

SD was never lock down, yet conservative media only mentions TX and FL, but it was SD that started it all.

It does have standing in principle although I don't think we are at the point of desperation just yet.

On the other hand I am concerned that the positive results of the coming election could easily be wasted by Republican complacency afterward.

They have a history of complacency. Sitting on their hands after a sweep.
Did so in 1994 and again in 2016.

So, pardon me if i do not get excited if they sweep yet another time.
Their history says they will do nothing.

This is why TEXAS is now the country of my heart.
When the USA gets back to sanity, she will be welcomed back as a long lost friend.
