TX is holding a lot of cards. Hell, they can make their own gas for pennies. I can picture it.
That damned energy company would be the first to get fined and tossed.
TX also has Space X. If Musk stays. They could militarize the moon and hold the ultimate high ground.

I think a rewording of the Second Amendment to eliminate the prefatory clause (A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State) and reinforce its operative clause (the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed) would be good.

I would also suggest term limits... One six year term for President. Two five year terms for the Senate and three three year terms for the House. I also think there should be some changes in the way the Supreme Court operates, particularly in regard to its relationship with the Legislature. I kind of know what I am thinking there, but I need to figure out how best express it.

I also think the Commerce Clause should either be eliminated or rewritten to greatly limit its scope. There have been far too many abuses of it.

As I stated earlier though, I have great concerns about such a Convention. I think it could backfire and have the opposite of the desired effect.
I agree with all of this.

The Commerce Clause could be clarified. SCOTUS fixed it, but Congress still gets it wrong.

Repealing the 17th may fix a lot of our current problems.

The fear tactic of "they can raise taxes" is a not even valid. They can raise taxes anytime they want through simple legislative process for the new year or add a National Sales Tax aka sin tax. There is nothing stopping them that would disappear.
The only thing that stops them is voters.

The problem with federal taxes is that almost half don't pay income taxes. So they don't have any reason not to vote for candidates who want to raise them. Perhaps people who don't pay income taxes should not be able to vote in federal elections.

How did the US military do in Afghanistan?

It shows just how limited your thinking is.
We did not defeat the Taliban but we did arm them reasonably well. Why couldn't we defeat the Taliban? They maintained the support of the populace. Do you think Texans fighting in Texas for Texan independence will be any different?

There will be plenty of countries willing to arm Texans in their fight against tyranny.

    ...and it would be welcomed.

...but as far as rifle ammo is concerned....well, let's just say I know some people here that can personally supply an entire squad with just what they have in their closet.

Not me, mind you. With my back as it is, I will be doing bench level programming and repair on COMMS.

For the record, we moved from Kalifornia to South Dakota. More conservative than TX. LOL

My wife is from South Dakota. Alpena...a little town "east river " of 300.
We will be driving up next month if my injections take and have any effect.
We will probably stay in Rapid City with her sons.

...and yes...SD is more free than TX.

It was your governor who shamed ours into opening the lockdowns after her speech at CPAC.
SD was never lock down, yet conservative media only mentions TX and FL, but it was SD that started it all.

They have a history of complacency. Sitting on their hands after a sweep.
Did so in 1994 and again in 2016.

So, pardon me if i do not get excited if they sweep yet another time.
Their history says they will do nothing.

This is why TEXAS is now the country of my heart.
When the USA gets back to sanity, she will be welcomed back as a long lost friend.

...but right now, the USA is completely insane and run by a Kenyan who hates us to the core.

Someone once said it is hard to lead a rebellion with participants on a full stomach.
Joe has just changed that. Lot of empty stomachs out there, today
