Why do liberals oppose sending this issue to the states?

Liberals love to use the word “democracy.” They claim the Republicans are a danger to democracy.

Now we have a Supreme Court ruling which supports democracy by placing an issue closer to the people. But yet they oppose it. I guess they’re not so concerned about maintaining democracy.

They respond to that criticism by saying we are a representative republic and not a democracy. They then scream about an issue being placed in the hands of their local representatives.

Do they even have a basic grasp of the issue?

"Ending American democracy and replacing it with their desired Christofascist utopia. That's the big one. We're fine with loyal opposition, but eliminating American democracy through violence, thuggery and cheating is not something we can tolerate".

Again, who did you use as a Republican source for this plan?

Here's the thing. If you want to pull off the condescending act successfully, you have to actually be intelligent. That's why I can pull it off. You can't.
I'm sure you can pull it off better than me but I don't have the need.

Their leaders do but the protesters we see on the streets haven't a clue. As you say, it's about the Constitution, not abortion.

The closer we get to democracy, the more liberals complain.

A democracy would mean dumping the electoral college. I don’t think too many liberals would complain about that.

Even if they got everything they ever wanted they would still complain.

Returning the abortion issue to the states is a step toward democracy, it puts the matter closer to the hands of the people and their votes.

Dumping the electoral college would put more power in DC, nationally, centrally, and that's less democratic.
