It's interesting how incredibly divided this nation has become. Divided to the extent that the Texas GOP is trying to get a referendum on the ballot in 2023 to determine whether the state should secede.
All the legal experts and armchair legal experts are coming out of the woodwork to weigh in on whether Texas can legally secede or not. As one puts it -- it would mean war.
Not that Texans are going to vote to secede--but what if they did? Would the situation follow the same path as what we're seeing in Ukraine where Crimea and the Donbass seceded and it triggered a whole lot of killing and now a war? Would the war be immediate? Would it be slow in coming? Could the nation ever heal from it? What think ye?

The Texas GOP begs to differ...
https://www1.cbn.com/cbnnews/politic...r-on-secession"Pursuant to Article 1, Section 1, of the Texas Constitution, the federal government has impaired our right of local self-government. Therefore, federally mandated legislation that infringes upon the 10th Amendment rights of Texas should be ignored, opposed, refused, and nullified. Texas retains the right to secede from the United States, and the Texas Legislature should be called upon to pass a referendum consistent thereto."
