This was whacked even for NYC

Apparently NYC was set to allow non American citizens who reside there to vote in local elections. The NYS Courts $#@! this nonsense down, thankfully .
One article referred to it a "a blow to voting rights?
This $#@! just gets crazier on both sides but especially in left of crazy land.

Stopping a lame scheme to let non Americans vote because it serves a short term agenda is a blow to voting rights?
What do these people want? Since when did the right to vote mean that you should be inconvenienced at all on your way to vote. Not by lines, the lack of food trucks, breathing other people's air, or having to be at a certain place sometime in a 15 hour window on a pre arranged day to exercise that right. All right but no duty! But now it is too much to even ask the would be voter to be an American citizen?

Where in the world could I vote without being a citizen?

As you know, I often find your anti-state commentary delusional but if a state ceases to distinguish between citizens and non-citizens it no longer has a reason to exist.

I wasn't aware the NYS courts struck this down, I'm surprised. Good for them. The left's argument is that the non-citizens live in the neighborhood, therefore they are invested in the area and should be allowed to vote. But I agree with you entirely, it's a garbage idea. If they aren't invested enough to become citizens - legally - they shouldn't be allowed to vote. Next up, Biden will wave a magic wand and grant all these people citizenship.

Hey it's alright, I find your ability to define the term anti-state to be absent.

The Biden admin would do that and pack the court in a heart beat. Everything is a test to see what the people will put up with

Seems self-explanatory. You consistently attack government and even invent your own ridiculous terms like "controllism". But good evening. You're one of those guys I shouldn't try to agree with even when you say something agreeable.

Supposedly Biden is now against packing the court, and his committee to study the matter did not recommend packing the court. I am frankly stunned, I would have bet money that the committee would have recommended court packing as a foregone conclusion. But apparently not. Maybe they realized it would become a ping pong match, with each president adding judges to the court to mold it into his liking. Lots of Dems calling for it right now though.

California WOKE Cities have these same experiments going on making the illegal citizen more and more legitimate. That this makes a mockery of the value of being a lawful citizen does not seem to matter.

I don't have a problem with legal residents voting in local election if local people want that (via laws passed by their representatives in office).
